Wage Subsidies:

Plumbing Apprentices Queensland will pass on wage subsidies received from the Federal Government under Boosting Apprenticeship Commencements (BAC) & Completing Apprenticeship Commencements (CAC) programs to Host Employers. Subsidies will be proportionately allocated for the weeks worked with the Host at the end of each quarter.

From 30 June 2022, the Boosting Apprenticeship Commencements (BAC) and Completing Apprenticeship Commencements (CAC) Programs will close to new entrants. The BAC and CAC wage subsidies were time-limited interventions supporting business to take on new apprentices during the economic recovery from the impacts of COVID-19.

To be eligible for the BAC and CAC wage subsidies, the apprentice must have an employment commencement date between 5 October 2020 and 30 June 2022. Eligible apprentices for the BAC and CAC have up to 36 months of wage subsidy through these programs. These wage subsidies are limited to:

Boosting Apprenticeship Commencements (BAC)

  • 50% Apprentice’s gross wage for the 12-month period from the date of commencement or recommencement; up to a maximum of $7,000 per quarter
  • Apprentices eligible for BAC qualify for CAC

Completing Apprenticeship Commencements (CAC)

  • Months 13-24:  10% Apprentice’s gross wage up to a maximum of $1,500 per quarter
  • Months 25-36:  5% Apprentice’s gross wage up to a maximum of $750 per quarter

Hand-picked staff

Master Plumbers operates a Registered Group Training Organisation (GTO) dedicated to recruit and train Plumbing, Roof Plumbing and Refrigeration Apprentices (PAQ). All staff are hand-picked, trained and managed by Master Plumbers and are hired to you for the duration needed.

Duration of hire and rates

Businesses can hire apprentices at any year level for the minimum duration of one week, and return them with a week’s notice. This gives you the ultimate control in staffing flexibility.

Our rates include all on-costs so you only pay when they are working and productive on the job, having all entitlements, trade school fees, workers compensation premiums and costs rolled into a single simple hourly rate you can easily on-charge to your client.
