Upskilling Plumbers
Demystifying Heat Pumps
Hot water system heat pumps have become a popular choice for energy-efficient electric systems. Compared to traditional electric water heaters, they are much more efficient, using 60 to 75% less electricity. To maintain this efficiency and meet household needs, quality and compliant installation is crucial. Poor installation can compromise a home’s comfort and energy efficiency. The necessary knowledge and skills to design and install heat pumps, as well as avoiding common installation mistakes, will be covered in the training.
The Upskilling Plumbers Program is free for for registered and licensed plumbers, along with fourth-year plumbing apprentices in Victoria, and will equip participants with the knowledge and skills to understand energy efficiency requirements and install efficient hot water system heat pumps, demystifying the process. The program has 2 separate components, an online course of approximately 2-3 hours, and a face-to-face workshop of 4-5 hours. Both offered free of charge.
