Course overview
This course provides you with the skill and knowledge to meet the requirements of the Building and Plumbing Commision’s core business units for licensing in the plumbing industry. Study areas include: estimating and costing work, controlling risk in the workpalce, reading and interpreting plans, legal and risk management requiremnts when setting up a small business and working in a regulatory environment.

To be eligible to enrol in the course you must either have completed all formal training in your apprenticeship or have been awarded the Certificate III in Plumbing or equivalent.
It is also recommended that you have attained language, literacy and numeracy skills equivalent to Level 3 and Level 4 of the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF).
There are no prerequisite units.
Course structure
Course delivery will use a combination of face to face classroom training, flexible learning materials and self directed home based study.
- Two (2) evenings per week (6 hrs) for 10 weeks
- plus 30 hours self directed learning prior to/or during course attendance
Course duration
60 hours. Classes run from 5.30pm to 8.30pm.

Course recognition
Upon successfully completing this course you will be entitled to a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment.
These units are core units gazetted by the Building and Plumbing Commission for registered plumbers wanting to obtain registration in any main plumbing class. It is also an accredited unit of competency in CPC40920 Certificate IV in Plumbing and Services.
