Forum guests were welcomed to Chisholm Tafe in Frankston on Wednesday 9 May by Master Plumbers CEO Peter Daly who gave an update of the ongoing advocacy work being undertaken by the Master Plumbers. With 2018 being a big year for the Regulation Reviews these Forum events are important to keep all plumbers in Victoria up to date with the changes.
Gary Bath advised that the Association was awaiting the release of the draft plumbing Regulations which will trigger a one-month public comment phase. Master Plumbers would ensure that all members would be updated on any issues arising from those draft Regulations and we expect to represent the members via the formal response process.
Gary Bath also advised that Master Plumbers are involved in a review of the current national plumbing training package, the draft will shortly be released for further comment.
Enzo Alfonsetti from Energy Safe Victoria discussed the changes to AS/NZS 5601 and the Type A Appliance Servicing Standard.
Victorian Building Authority’s Matthew Wilson updated guests on the changes happening with AS/NZA 3500 Water Supply, Sanitary and Drainage Standards.
South East Water sent Paul Galvin and Jim Papalois to discuss changes to Interceptor device requirements.
Finally, Master Plumbers own Rod Tresidder updated guests on the new WorkSafe Victoria Excavation Compliance Code.
