CPCPMS3034 – Install and test medical gas pipeline systems
This three day course is designed to provide participants with the skills and knowledge to safely install and test medical gas pipelines for use within hospitals and other medical facilities.
Participants must:
Be registered or licensed in the class of mechanical services plumbing
Have completed CPCPCM2043 Carry out WHS requirements prior to undertaking the program
Hold a construction induction card (or equivalent)
It is recommended that learners undertaking this course have acquired language, literacy and numeracy skills equivalent to Level 3 and Level 4 of the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF).
Complete pre-reading and activities that will be supplied on enrolment
Course structure
Course delivery is face to face classroom training.
Three (3) consecutive days including a four (4) hour external practical assessment supervised by the VBA.
Course duration
24 hours over three (3) consecutive days.

Unit assessment requires learners to:
complete a theory assessment
complete a practical assessment which requires the learner to successfully install and test, at three medical gas pipeline systems for different gasses from a manifold to terminal units and fittings.
Course outcome
On successful completion of this course learners will be able to:
determine system requirements
install, test and purge a medical gas pipeline system
Recognition
Learners successfully completing this course will receive a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment.
