McCarthy Plumbing Group

What sort of work do you do?
We provide a mix of residential and commercial maintenance.

How long have you been in business?
Eight and a half years.

What got you into the industry?
The vast technical knowledge required always keeps things challenging and interesting.

What do you enjoy most about being a plumber and being part of the plumbing industry?
The friendships formed over the years through different suppliers, organizations and clients. I enjoy being a Plumber as it enables you to have the knowledge to solve a variety of different issues.

Do you have any great achievements or stories about plumbing that you’d like to share?
We’ve won a local council award and two National awards we’re really proud of however we are most proud of the apprentices that have undertaken their journey from work experience to Apprentice to qualified plumber and young leaders with us, we love being able to support them all the way through and them choosing to stay with us after their Journeymen’s. That’s really rewarding

What’s your best bit of plumbing/business advice?
When you first start out things can progress rapidly. Make sure you start out with a plan, know your numbers and always be on the look out for potential candidates. Utilise your Master Plumbers membership, not only for the discounts but the support and advice.
