We understand that sometimes plumbing apprenticeships don’t work out.   Does your current apprentice employer not have enough work for you?  Are you worried about ongoing job security?  Is your employer not paying your fees or your superannuation?

Master Plumbers is one of Victoria’s leading employer association and regularly employs plumbing apprentices who are part way through their training.

We employ 100+ apprentices a year, providing them with work placements with our host employers.    Our connections to the plumbing industry and our commitment to you as an apprentice, means that you get the experience and support you need to thrive in your plumbing career.

We have roles available now for 2nd and 3rd year apprentices.

You’ll be employed as an apprentice by Plumbing Apprenticeships Victoria (our group training scheme) and continue to complete your Certificate III in Plumbing with your current training school.   We’ll also provide you with support and mentoring, while you undertake paid work placements with a variety of host employers in the plumbing industry.

5 reasons why you should choose Plumbing Apprenticeships Victoria for your apprenticeship

  1. We pay more. We care more.

At Master Plumbers, we have a team of professionals whose job is to shape your apprenticeship experience. This dedicated team of Field Officers help to monitor your progress, help you troubleshoot and keep you engaged in work.

We also pay more than the Award, due our competitive Enterprise Agreement.  Some features include:

    – Above award payment when you’re working in the domestic sector or matching union EBA rates, when you work in those environments.

    – Payment for fares and travel based on an agreed training centre location or home base (approx. $100 per week) including travel to your Certificate III training. You probably wouldn’t be entitled to this payment if you worked directly for a plumber!

    – Payments for Apprentices Incolink (industry based portable redundancy and sick leave)

    – Payments for public holidays at the rate at which you’re currently employed.

More information about our PAV Enterprise Agreement is contained in a helpful summary sheet. We’ll also explain our Agreement to you in your interview!

  2. Benefit from job placements in different plumbing companies in commercial, industrial and domestic sectors

Our Plumbing-specific scheme is the only one of its kind in Victoria. We only do plumbing. The scheme is designed to make sure our Apprentices don’t get bogged down doing the same repetitive job for the term of their apprenticeship.

We have Host Employers working across greater Melbourne in numerous fields. As an Apprentice with PAV, our program seeks to move you to Host Employers who need a hand.

So for your Apprenticeship you will get a greater variety of experience by being placed with many different types of plumbing companies in commercial, industrial and domestic environments.

This gives you unrivalled connections that you can call upon when you graduate.

If you are adaptable, enjoy meeting new people and always keeping things interesting, this might be for you.

  3. Connect to industry with Master Plumbers

Our connections to industry will benefit you in many ways.
