The benefits of Master Plumbers labour hire
Our Apprentice Labour Hire services benefits all Victorian plumbing businesses, and includes:
- Selecting and recruiting plumbing apprentices on behalf of all participating Victoria plumbing businesses, such as yours. (Participating businesses are commonly called, Host Employers)
- Managing and distributing: wages, allowances, superannuation, workers compensation, sick/holiday pay and other employment benefits
- Managing quality and continuity of training, both on and off the job
- Providing extra ongoing support to ensure your apprentice successfully completes the Apprenticeship/ Traineeship Training Contract
- Access to on-demand labour hire to satisfy both short-term and long-term contracts
- Access additional labour resources when and where you need them
- Supply and issue of tools and protective clothing (PPE) to staff
- Contract management, including the completion and lodgement of training agreements between PAV and Host Employers
How Apprentice labour hire works
Plumbing Apprenticeships Victoria (PAV) is Victoria’s industry Group Training Scheme and is wholly operated by Master Plumbers. In partnership with the Victorian State Government, PAV is dedicated to providing plumbing businesses with high quality, multi-skilled apprentices.
Fast facts
Employers are charged an agreed hourly rate for hours worked. This is inclusive of award wages, standard allowances, overtime and non-productive time such as off-job training attendance, sick leave and annual leave.
Hire from one week to the term of an apprenticeship based on your labour needs.
Cost effective - the apprentice fills in a weekly time sheet so you only pay for hours worked.
PAV staff manage all apprentice training and skill development. In addition we monitor the apprentice’s performance within your workplace, ensuring a successful placement.
Reduced administration cost
We take care of all employer associated admin including payment of wages and superannuation, Work Cover, supply of personal protective equipment, enrollment at trade school and completion of training agreement.

Under the contract, PAV employs the apprentice. PAV manages the contract and mentors the apprentice, leaving host employers free to do what they do best - run their business.
